Target Information
BIM은 BCL-2 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 세포 사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 항- 또는 친-사멸 단백질들과 상호작용합니다. 이 단백질은 BH3 도메인을 포함하며, BCL2, BCL2L1/BCL-XL, MCL1 등과 결합하여 세포 사멸을 유도하는 역할을 합니다.
NGF 및 전사인자 FKHR-L1에 의해 발현이 유도되며, 신경세포 및 림프구의 세포사멸에 관여합니다. 생쥐 모델 연구에서는 thymocyte-negative selection 과정에서 필수적인 apoptosis 개시 인자로 기능함이 보고되었습니다.
