Product Specific Information
- This antibody cross reacts with amylin (IAPP).
- For immunofluorescence applications, overnight incubation at 4°C is required.
- Stefanini fixed frozen sections of rat colon can be used as a positive control.
- Reconstitute with 50–100 µL of distilled water, then dilute in 0.1M PBS with 1% BSA and 0.1% sodium azide.
- Once reconstituted, store at -20°C.
Target Information
This gene encodes the peptide hormones calcitonin, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), and katacalcin by tissue-specific alternative RNA splicing and cleavage of inactive precursor proteins.
Calcitonin regulates calcium and phosphorus metabolism.
CGRP functions as a vasodilator, while katacalcin acts as a calcium-lowering peptide.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
