Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of LIMK2 only when phosphorylated at Serine 283.
Target Information
LIMK2 is a serine/threonine kinase involved in regulating actin cytoskeletal changes via phosphorylation of cofilin. It plays roles in brain development and mediates protein-protein interactions through LIM motifs. LIMK2 is activated by ROCK (a Rho effector) and phosphorylates cofilin, inhibiting its actin-depolymerizing activity. This pathway contributes to Rho-induced actin cytoskeleton reorganization. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms of LIMK2 have been identified.
