Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of STAT2 only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 690.
Target Information
STAT2 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases and form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus, acting as transcription activators.
Upon interferon (IFN) stimulation, STAT2 forms a complex with STAT1 and p48 (ISGF3G), functioning as a transactivator but lacking direct DNA-binding ability. It specifically interacts with transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) and is thought to play a role in blocking the IFN-alpha response by adenovirus.
