Target Information
CIITA는 산성 전사 활성화 도메인, 네 개의 LRRs(leucine-rich repeats), GTP 결합 도메인을 포함하며 핵 내에 위치합니다. Class II 주요조직적합복합체(MHC) 유전자 전사의 양성 조절자로 작용하며, 이러한 유전자 발현의 ‘master control factor’로 알려져 있습니다.
CIITA는 GTP를 결합하여 핵으로의 이동을 촉진하며, 핵 내에서는 DNA에 직접 결합하지 않고 고유의 acetyltransferase(AT) 활성을 통해 공동활성자(coactivator) 역할을 수행합니다.
이 유전자의 변이는 Bare Lymphocyte Syndrome Type II(유전성 MHC Class II 결핍증), 류머티즘 관절염, 다발성 경화증, 심근경색 등의 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
