Product Specific Information

The eBio5E10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD90, also known as Thy-1 (thymus cell antigen-1). CD90 is a 25–35 kD receptor expressed on thymocytes, CD34+ prothymocytes, hematopoietic stem cells, neurons, fetal liver cells, cord blood cells, and bone marrow cells. It is involved in regulation of adhesion and signal transduction by T cells.

• Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on human erythroleukemia (HEL) cells; use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume)
• Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test
• Light sensitivity: Tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light
• Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-822-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark

Target Information

CD90 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer cells, and fibroblasts. CD90 plays a role in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other neural events. It serves as a marker for various stem cells and axonal processes of mature neurons. Structural studies of CD90 contributed to defining the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the first biochemical characterization of a vertebrate GPI anchor.

Diseases associated with CD90 dysfunction include nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
