Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms heterodimers with p50 or p52 subunits. TNFα binding activates IKK, leading to phosphorylation and degradation of IκB, thereby releasing NF-kB to translocate to the nucleus. NF-kB p65 plays a critical role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
