Target Information
PAK2 (serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a role in multiple signaling pathways including cytoskeleton regulation, cell motility, cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and proliferation. It acts as a downstream effector of the small GTPases CDC42 and RAC1. Activation by binding of active CDC42 and RAC1 induces a conformational change followed by autophosphorylation on several serine and/or threonine residues. Full-length PAK2 promotes cell survival and growth. PAK proteins are critical effectors linking Rho GTPases to cytoskeleton reorganization and nuclear signaling, serving as targets for small GTP binding proteins Cdc42 and RAC, and are involved in diverse biological functions.
