Target Information

MAPK3 (ERK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that activates p90, RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, playing a key role in the MAPK signaling pathway. ERK1 is widely expressed and regulates meiosis, mitosis, and post-mitotic functions in differentiated cells.
It is activated by various stimuli including growth factors, cytokines, viral infection, and GPCR ligands, leading to nuclear translocation and phosphorylation of nuclear targets.
ERK1 participates in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression. Alternative splicing results in different isoforms of ERK1.
