Target Information

eIF4A2 is a 407-amino acid ATP-dependent RNA helicase belonging to the DEAD box family. It contains helicase ATP-binding and C-terminal domains.
As part of the eIF4F complex, eIF4A2 acts as a translation initiation factor, facilitating mRNA binding to the 43S pre-initiation ribosomal complex.
Human eIF4A2 interacts with the NS5B protein of Hepatitis C virus (HCV), aiding RNA synthesis by unwinding the secondary structure of the viral genome.
It is ubiquitously expressed across normal tissues in varying levels.
