Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The serine/threonine kinase, p21 activated kinase (PAK), acts as a downstream effector of small GTPases Cdc42 and Rac. PAK associates with Nck, PI3-kinase subunits (p85, p110), and PIX (PAK-interacting exchange factor) in a focal complex. PIX binding is essential for localization and activation of PAK in the Cdc42–Rac signaling pathway. PIX exists as alpha and beta isoforms, both highly expressed in heart, muscle, and thymus of human and rat. AlphaPIX is phosphorylated via PDGF and EphB2 receptor signaling or via PI3-kinase association, and primarily acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) on Rac, mediating lamellipodia formation.
