Antibody detects endogenous levels of total KCNJ14.
Target Information
Inward rectifier potassium channels preferentially allow potassium ions to flow into the cell rather than out. Their voltage dependence is influenced by extracellular potassium concentration, shifting channel opening to more positive voltages as potassium levels increase. Inward rectification is mainly due to blockage of outward current by internal magnesium. KCNJ14 forms low-conductance channels with low affinity for blockers such as barium and cesium.
