Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the regulator of G-protein signaling (RGS) family.
The protein acts as a GTPase activating protein that inhibits G-protein mediated signal transduction.
It is largely cytosolic but translocates to the plasma membrane upon G-protein activation.
A nuclear form has also been described, though its sequence remains unidentified.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, but some full-length forms are not yet known.
