Target Information
Desmoplakin (DSP) is a major high molecular weight protein of desmosomes. It plays a critical role in organizing desmosomal cadherin-plakoglobin complexes into plasma membrane domains and anchoring intermediate filaments to desmosomes.
Mutations in Desmoplakin are associated with Keratoderma and cardiomyopathy.
