Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine that induces IFN-gamma production in T cells. In combination with IL12, it inhibits IL4-dependent IgE and IgG1 production and enhances IgG2a production in B cells. IL-18 binding protein can specifically interact with this cytokine, thereby negatively regulating its biological activity.
