Product Specific Information

This product is preservative free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

This antibody has specificity for Human CD209/DC-SIGN.

Target Information

This gene encodes a transmembrane receptor commonly referred to as DC-SIGN due to its expression on dendritic cells and macrophages. The encoded protein plays a role in innate immunity, recognizing diverse pathogens such as parasites and viruses.
It consists of three domains: an N-terminal transmembrane domain, a tandem-repeat neck domain, and a C-type lectin carbohydrate recognition domain.
The extracellular region functions as both a pathogen recognition receptor and a cell adhesion receptor by binding carbohydrate ligands on microbial and endogenous cells.
The neck region facilitates homo-oligomerization, enabling high-avidity multivalent ligand binding.
Variations in the 23 amino acid repeats of the neck domain affect ligand binding ability.
This gene is related to L-SIGN (GeneID 10332), differing in ligand-binding properties and tissue distribution.
Alternative splicing results in multiple isoforms.
