This antibody detects endogenous levels of MEF2D only when phosphorylated at Ser180.
Target Information
The MEF2D gene belongs to the myocyte-specific enhancer factor 2 (MEF2) family of transcription factors. Members of this family regulate muscle and neuronal cell differentiation and development, and are influenced by class II histone deacetylases. Fusions with DAZAP1 due to translocation have been identified in acute lymphoblastic leukemia cell lines, suggesting a role in leukemogenesis. The protein may also be involved in Parkinson’s disease and myotonic dystrophy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
