Target Information
E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin)은 칼슘 의존성 세포 간 접착 단백질로, cadherin 슈퍼패밀리에 속하는 고전적 cadherin입니다. 이 단백질은 5개의 extracellular cadherin 반복 영역, 하나의 transmembrane 영역, 그리고 highly conserved cytoplasmic tail을 포함합니다.
CDH1 유전자의 돌연변이는 위암, 유방암, 대장암, 갑상선암 및 난소암과 관련이 있으며, E-Cadherin 발현의 감소 또는 결손은 종양의 침습성과 전이 가능성을 증가시키는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
E-Cadherin은 세포 성장과 조직 구조 유지에 중요한 역할을 하며, 인간에서는 16번 염색체에 위치한 CDH1 유전자에 의해 발현됩니다.
