Target Information
PDE2A (phosphodiesterase 2A) is a 100 kDa cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE). Three isoforms (PDE2A1, PDE2A2, PDE2A3) are produced by alternative splicing of a single gene. PDE2A degrades both cAMP and cGMP, with higher efficiency for cGMP. It is expressed in multiple tissues, most abundantly in the brain (cerebellum and neocortex). PDE2A is associated with regulation of endothelial barrier function and has been implicated in erectile dysfunction.
