Target Information
NEK2는 세포 주기 조절에 관여하며 염색체의 정확한 분리를 위해 필수적인 역할을 하는 serine/threonine-protein kinase를 암호화하는 유전자입니다. 이 단백질은 주로 중심체에 위치하며, G1 단계에서는 거의 검출되지 않지만 S 단계 동안 점차 증가하여 G2 후기에 최고 수준에 도달합니다. NEK2 유전자는 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 변형을 가지며, 각각 다른 C-말단을 가진 isoform을 생성합니다. 이 유전자는 Retinitis Pigmentosa 67 등 여러 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
