Target Information

TAOK1 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in regulation of the p38-containing stress-responsive MAP kinase pathway and extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK) kinases (MEKs).
It activates MEK3 and regulates the p38-containing MAP kinase pathway.
TAOK1 (also known as MARKK) is an important regulator of mitotic progression, required for chromosome congression and checkpoint-induced anaphase delay.
It participates in processes such as p38/MAPK14 stress-activated MAPK cascade, DNA damage response, and cytoskeleton stability regulation.
TAOK1 phosphorylates MAP2K3, MAP2K6, and MARK2, and acts as an activator of the p38/MAPK cascade.
In response to DNA damage, TAOK1 contributes to G2/M transition checkpoint activation through phosphorylation of MAP2K3 and MAP2K6.
Additionally, it regulates cytoskeleton stability and apoptosis.
