For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

BCL-2 is a key regulator of apoptosis, functioning to inhibit or promote cell death. Members of the BCL-2 family dimerize to modulate apoptosis further.

• Bag1 forms heterodimers with BCL-2, enhancing its anti-apoptotic effect.
• Bax and Bak are critical in cytochrome c release from mitochondria, initiating apoptosis.
• Constitutive expression of BCL2 due to translocation to the Ig heavy chain locus causes follicular lymphoma.
• High levels of BCL-2 alpha protein are observed in neoplastic germinal centers of follicular lymphomas, while normal centers are negative.
• Two transcript variants exist, differing in their C-terminal ends.
• Overexpression of BCL-2 is linked to cancers such as B-cell lymphoma and prostate cancer.
