이 단백질은 정자 꼬리의 탄성 구조 유지 및 탄성 복원력에 관여하며, 정자 운동성 조절에 영향을 미칠 수 있습니다.
또한 mother centriole의 distal/subdistal appendage에 특이적으로 위치하는 일반적 스캐폴드 단백질로 기능하며, PLK1 및 NIN의 중심체 국소화에 필요합니다. 정상적인 CETN1 조립의 형성과 유지에도 필수적입니다.
