Product Specific Information
When used in combination with the biotinylated anti-human CCL5/RANTES detection antibody in sandwich ELISAs, no significant cross-reactivity or interference is observed with recombinant human or animal cytokines and growth factors, including ANG, CNTF, EGF, FGF, GM-CSF, IL series, MCP-1, MIP, PDGF, SCF, SLPI, TGF, TNF, and others.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
CCL5 (RANTES) is a chemokine gene located on chromosome 17q. It belongs to the CC subfamily and acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, memory T helper cells, and eosinophils.
CCL5 induces histamine release from basophils, activates eosinophils, and functions as a natural ligand for CCR5, suppressing replication of HIV-1 R5 strains in vitro.
Alternative splicing leads to multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
Diseases associated with CCL5 include Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and Periapical Granuloma.
