Target Information
Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS) family of proteins share similar domain structures and are involved in transducing signals from cell surface receptors to the actin cytoskeleton. These proteins interact with multiple regulators, including small GTPase Cdc42 and the cytoskeletal organizing complex Arp2/3.
WASL, a homolog of WAS protein, is ubiquitously expressed with highest levels in neural tissues. It binds directly to Cdc42 and promotes the formation of long actin microspikes.
