Anti-Carboxypeptidase A is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, and extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified Carboxypeptidase A (Bovine Pancreas).
Cross-reactivity with Carboxypeptidase A from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1) is a 419-amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue.
It functions as a zinc-dependent pancreatic exopeptidase, catalyzing the release of C-terminal amino acids from proteins, playing a key role in protein digestion and degradation.
CPA1 may also participate in zymogen inhibition, regulating enzyme activation pathways.
Abnormal CPA1 levels are associated with pancreatic cancer, suggesting roles in tumor progression or suppression.
