Target Information
HOXB13 encodes a transcription factor belonging to the homeobox gene family, which is highly conserved among vertebrates and essential for embryonic development. It plays a role in fetal skin development and cutaneous regeneration. In mice, similar genes show temporal and spatial colinearity along the main body axis, suggesting functions in body patterning. HOXB13 and other HOXB genes form a cluster at chromosome region 17q21–22.
