Target Information
STING is a 379 amino acid signaling protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-kappa-B and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferons (IFN-α and IFN-β), establishing a strong antiviral state. STING may also function as a translocon, influencing interferon induction and apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It mediates ERK pathway activation and is found in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane. STING is ubiquitously expressed across most tissues.
