The Applied Biosystems™ Human HPRT1 (HGPRT) Endogenous Control (VIC™/TAMRA™ Probe, Primer Limited) is intended as an endogenous control. It enables relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples when used with other TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays. The probe is labeled with VIC™ and TAMRA™ dyes, and the primers are limited. Suitable for multiplex or singleplex PCR reactions. Designed for use with Inventoried, Made-to-Order, or Custom TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays, as well as Custom TaqMan™ Primers and Probes.

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls eliminate the need for assay design and optimization by providing pre-designed probe and primer sets for gene expression normalization. These controls allow accurate normalization of RNA or DNA amounts in reactions.

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls simplify control selection for most human, mouse, rat, and eukaryotic genes, avoiding trial-and-error in identifying stable reference genes.

Simple to Use

All components are QC tested and formulated into a single 20X mix, compatible with universal conditions for two-step RT-PCR. Use with TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix and cDNA samples for sensitive and reproducible qPCR data on Applied Biosystems instruments (7900HT, 7300, 7500, 7000, 7700 systems).

Flexible Offering

Each endogenous control uses 5′ nuclease chemistry and offers flexibility with reporter dyes and quenchers:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) + primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) + primers (150 nM each, primer limited)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TAMRA™ probe (250 nM) + primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Endogenous controls normalize target gene expression by correcting cDNA input differences. Expression must be consistent across all samples. For multiplexing, ensure the control gene is more abundantly expressed than the target.

Multiplex vs. Singleplex PCR

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls with VIC™ reporter dye are primer limited for multiplexing. FAM™ dye-labeled controls are not primer limited and are intended for singleplex use.
