Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
hCG beta is the beta chain of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a 40 kDa glycoprotein hormone produced by trophoblastic cells of the placenta beginning 10–12 days after conception.
hCG consists of alpha and beta subunits that are non-covalently associated. The alpha subunit is shared with pituitary hormones (FSH, LH, TSH), while the beta subunit confers biological specificity.
During early pregnancy, hCG stimulates the corpus luteum to produce progesterone, maintaining the secretory endometrium. hCG levels rise sharply during pregnancy and are minimal in non-pregnant individuals.
Diseases associated with hCG dysfunction include gestational trophoblastic tumor and hydatidiform mole.
