Target Information

PDE2A (phosphodiesterase 2A) is a 100 kD cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) with three isoforms (PDE2A1, PDE2A2, PDE2A3) produced by alternative splicing. It degrades both cAMP and cGMP, with higher efficacy for cGMP. PDE2A is expressed in various tissues, most abundantly in the brain, particularly in the cerebellum and neocortex. It has been implicated in penile erectile dysfunction and regulation of fluid and inflammatory cell transport across the endothelial barrier.
