OGFOD1은 2-OG-Fe(II) dioxygenase 패밀리에 속하며, 허혈성 생존 및 스트레스 반응에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 Prolyl 4-hydroxylase alpha 서브유닛을 포함한 oxidoreductase로, 철 결합 잔기가 ATPAF1 유전자 발현에 필요합니다. 또한 OGFOD1은 새로운 스트레스 과립 성분으로서 번역 조절 및 HRI 매개 eIF2α 인산화 과정에서 중요한 세포자멸 촉진 역할을 합니다.
