Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, functioning as a molecular scaffold for multiprotein complexes at specialized plasma membrane regions. It is also a member of the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). CARD11 and CARD14 proteins interact with BCL10, a positive regulator of cell apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation. Expression of CARD11 activates NF-kappaB and induces phosphorylation of BCL10.
