Product Specific Information
- Predicted to react with mouse and zebrafish based on 100% sequence homology.
- Specific for the ~38 kDa cdc2 protein phosphorylated at Tyr15 in Western blots of SK-N-MC total cell extracts.
- Immunolabeling is blocked by the phosphopeptide used as the antigen but not by the corresponding dephosphopeptide.

CDK1 (Cell Division Control protein 1) is essential for the completion of START, the controlling event in the cell cycle required to initiate mitosis.
It is a catalytic subunit of the M-Phase Promoting Factor complex that induces entry into mitosis and is conserved among eukaryotes.
Phosphorylation of Bcl-2 in G2/M phase-arrested cells following photodynamic therapy with hypericin involves a CDK1-mediated signal and delays apoptosis onset.
Therapeutic potential of CDK inhibitor NU2058 in androgen-independent prostate cancer has also been demonstrated.
