Target Information
PDCD2 is an essential component of an SCF-type E3 ligase complex, SCF(NIPA), which controls mitotic entry by mediating ubiquitination and degradation of cyclin B1 (CCNB1). Its cell-cycle-dependent phosphorylation regulates SCF(NIPA) complex assembly, restricting CCNB1 ubiquitination to interphase. Inactivation leads to nuclear accumulation of CCNB1 and premature mitotic entry. PDCD2 may also play an antiapoptotic role in NPM-ALK-mediated signaling.
