This YKIX322.3 monoclonal antibody reacts with canine CD5, also known as Ly-1. CD5 is a 67-kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on thymocytes and mature T cells. Studies have shown that NK cells in dogs also express CD5 at lower levels, while B cells or B cell lines do not express CD5.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal canine peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test.
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that stains a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein. It is present on all mature T-lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. CD5 also reacts with a subpopulation of activated B-cells and may regulate T-cell proliferation.
CD5 is found on approximately 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. In lymph nodes, reactivity is mainly observed in T cell areas.
Diseases associated with CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
