This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MYOM1 protein.

Target Information

The giant protein titin, together with its associated proteins, interconnects the major structure of sarcomeres, the M bands and Z discs. The C-terminal end of titin extends into the M line, where it binds to M-band constituents such as myomesin 1 (190 kD) and myomesin 2 (165 kD).
Myomesin 1 and 2 contain structural modules homologous to fibronectin type III and immunoglobulin C2 domains. Both proteins share 50% sequence identity in their repeat-containing regions and contribute to the structural integrity of the sarcomere through muscle-specific immunoglobulin-like protein interactions.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
