The Human TREM-1 Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures TREM-1 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits to create custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is needed per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of a protein to quantitate multiple targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and deliver results within four hours.

Technology Overview

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single small-volume sample.
Each Luminex bead is internally dyed with unique ratios of red and infrared fluorophores, creating distinct spectral signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

In the assay:

• Each bead is conjugated with an antibody specific to a single target protein.
• Bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
• The Luminex instrument uses lasers to identify bead signatures and quantify fluorescence intensity proportional to protein concentration.

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in the ProcartaPlex assay is bead-conjugated and free-floating in solution, allowing for higher multiplexing capability and reduced sample consumption.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available for six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
