Target Information
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) Q is implicated in mRNA processing mechanisms. It is a component of the CRD-mediated complex that promotes MYC mRNA stability. Isoforms 1–3 associate with pre-mRNA, splicing intermediates, and mature mRNA complexes. Isoform 1 binds apoB mRNA AU-rich sequences and participates in the APOB mRNA editosome complex, potentially modulating post-transcriptional C-to-U RNA editing. It may also contribute to translationally coupled mRNA turnover and mRNA decay mechanisms. Isoform 3 may function in cytoplasmic vesicle-based mRNA transport through interaction with synaptotagmins. Additionally, hnRNP Q is part of the GAIT complex, which mediates interferon-gamma-induced, transcript-selective translation inhibition during inflammation.
