Prosapip1은 ProSAP2/Shank3의 PDZ 도메인을 통해 결합하고 Spine-associated Rap-Gap(SPAR)과 연결되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 Prosapip1은 PSD-Zip70과 높은 상동성을 가지며, Fez1 도메인을 포함하는 ‘Fezzins’으로 불리는 새로운 스캐폴딩 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다. 최근 연구에서는 Prosapip1이 내분비 세포의 호르몬 저장 구획에 주로 존재하는 것으로 보고되어, 비신경 세포에서도 기능할 가능성이 제시되었습니다.
