Target Information
Chemokines are small (approximately 8–14 kD), mostly basic molecules that regulate leukocyte trafficking through interactions with 7-transmembrane, G protein-coupled receptors. They are essential for immune system development, homeostasis, and function, and also affect cells of the central nervous system and endothelial cells involved in angiogenesis.
Chemokines are divided into two major subfamilies, CXC and CC, based on cysteine residue arrangement. CCR10 is the receptor for CCL27, and CCR10–CCL27 interactions are involved in T cell-mediated skin inflammation.
