Target Information
VAMP8 is involved in the targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane. It plays a role in dense-granule secretion in platelets, regulated enzyme secretion in pancreatic acinar cells, and the abscission of the midbody during cell division. It is also involved in the homotypic fusion of early and late endosomes.
