Target Information
Cystatin C는 type 2 cystatin superfamily에 속하는 강력한 cysteine proteinase 억제 인자입니다. 내인성(lysosomal cathepsins) 및 병원성 단백분해 효소를 억제하며, 13 kDa의 분비 단백질로 생체액 내 고농도로 존재합니다. 모든 인간 핵세포에서 발현되는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 심혈관 질환(atherosclerosis, amyloid angiopathy, myocardial infarction)에서 변화가 보고되었습니다. 낮은 분자량 특성으로 인해 Cystatin C는 신부전의 바이오마커로 사용될 수 있습니다.
