Target Information
Cystatin superfamily는 여러 cystatin-like 서열을 포함하는 단백질군으로, 일부는 활성 cysteine protease 억제제이며, 다른 일부는 억제 활성을 잃었거나 가지지 않습니다.
이 유전자는 cysteine protease 억제제로 작용하는 stefin을 암호화하며, papain 및 cathepsins B, H, L과 강력한 복합체를 형성합니다.
이 단백질은 keratinocyte의 cornified cell envelope 전구체 단백질 중 하나로, 표피 발달 및 유지에 관여합니다.
