Product Specific Information
In vivo, the monoclonal antibody 1C11 recognizes SI-CLP in the cellular fraction of bronchoalveolar lavage specimens obtained from patients with chronic inflammatory disorders of the respiratory tract and in peripheral-blood leukocytes (PBLs) from these patients as well as healthy donors.
Target Information
SI-CLP detects human Stabilin-interacting chitinase-like protein (SI-CLP), a novel member of the Glyco-18-domain containing protein family. SI-CLP is a secretory protein up-regulated in response to interleukin-4 and dexamethasone in activated macrophages. It is also expressed by T- and B-lymphocytes, and by cells of monocytic and epithelial origin. SI-CLP serves as the ligand for stabilin-1, an intracellular sorting receptor that directs SI-CLP into late endosomes and secretory lysosomes in activated macrophages.
