Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share the same basic four polypeptide chain structure of two heavy chains and two light chains (kappa, lambda).
Both light chains have a molecular weight of approximately 22.5 kDa and contain a variable and a constant region.
Kappa and lambda chains can be differentiated by their antigenic properties, with a typical ratio of 70:30 in humans.
Antibodies to the kappa light chain are useful in identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates malignancy.
