Product Specific Information
Description:
This 22F6 monoclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and canine Helios. Helios is a zinc-finger transcription factor similar to Ikaros, expressed in hematopoietic stem cells in both embryo and adult mice. The highest expression is found in regulatory T cells, while it is not expressed in mature B cells, dendritic cells, or myeloid cells. Helios can form homodimers or heterodimers with other Ikaros family members to regulate transcription. Eight isoforms exist, some with dominant-negative functions, upregulated in lymphoid malignancies such as T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
22F6 has been reported to cross-react with rat Helios.
Applications Reported:
Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometry using mouse lymph node cells and the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00).

Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the Ikaros family of zinc-finger proteins. The family members (Ikaros, Aiolos, Helios) are hematopoietic-specific transcription factors regulating lymphocyte development. Helios forms homo- or heterodimers with other Ikaros family members and functions mainly in early hematopoietic development. Multiple transcript variants exist, though the biological significance of some remains uncertain.
