Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of a selection of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency only achievable through recombinant production.

Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies, these Superclonal™ antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, allowing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance proteins. Each lot is produced with the same known mixture of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds DNA to form the nucleosome structure. Histones play key roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.

The N-terminal tail of histone H3 protrudes from the nucleosome core and undergoes multiple post-translational modifications—such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation—that influence chromatin structure and gene expression.
