Target Information
The 26S proteasome (PSMD11) is a multicatalytic proteinase complex composed of a 20S core and a 19S regulator.
- 20S core: 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits (two rings of 7 alpha subunits, two rings of 7 beta subunits)
- 19S regulator: Consists of a base (6 ATPase and 2 non-ATPase subunits) and a lid (up to 10 non-ATPase subunits)
Proteasomes are abundant in eukaryotic cells and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent, non-lysosomal pathway.
The immunoproteasome processes class I MHC peptides. PSMD11 is a non-ATPase subunit of the 19S regulator.
