This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Human ISG15.

Target Information

Ubiquitin-like protein ISG15 plays a key role in the innate immune response to viral infection, either via conjugation to target proteins (ISGylation) or as a free protein. It is secreted from monocytes in response to type I interferons and promotes NK-cell proliferation and non-MHC-restricted cytotoxicity.
ISG15 synthesis is stimulated by IFN-α, IFN-β, or IFN-ω, but not IFN-γ. Expression is induced by interferon regulatory factors and influenza B virus. It is secreted by monocyte, T-lymphocyte, B-lymphocyte, fibroblast, and epithelial cell lines.
ISG15 enhances NK cell proliferation, induces IFN-γ from T cells, and functions intracellularly as a ubiquitin homolog. Mutations in the ISG15 gene can cause Immunodeficiency 38 with basal ganglia calcification (IMD38).
